Envoy: Russia–UN deal rollover to depend on organization's guarantees
GENEVA, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Prolongation of a grain deal between Russia and the U.N. in the part devoted to Russian grain and fertilizer exports will depend on U.N. guarantees, Russia's representative in Geneva Gennady Gatilov said on Thursday.
"Russian grain and fertilizer exports are still facing logistic issues. Prolongation of this part of the agreement between Russia and the U.N., which is to end in November, will depend on the guarantees that the U.N. will provide," Gatilov said.
The official said that in spite of a stipulation in the deal of a free port entry of the ships with Russian food, the condition is not fulfilled.
